Esquimalt Lagoon is a bird sanctuary and will be hopping (no pun intended) with a variety of shore birds when the fall migration begins. For now, it is a beautiful place to watch the ubiquitous Canada Geese, Mallards, Gulls, and Ravens.
Royal Roads University, just west of Victoria, is set in Hatley Park and has the castle, gardens, trails, Esquimalt Lagoon, and is surrounded by an incredibly beautiful forest of ancient trees.
