Everglade National Park Shark Valley

We stopped to get gas and there was a roadside concession ...
" Hold or hug an alligator for $5.00".
It seemed very cheesy and sad to us, though this guy looks pretty pleased.

We saw so many alligators this day that I had to stop pointing and calling,
 "Look another one!!!"

We watched, amazed, as the Anhinga dove and fished
with such grace and and precision.

Then perched and spread it's wings to dry.

Little Blue Heron

Black Crowned Night Heron

Green Heron

Nesting Anhinga

Red Bellied Turtles

Roseate Spoonbill with other wading birds.

Purple Gallinule.. related to the common moorhen, but much more beautiful!

Lots of visitors .... all along this waterway were alligators.
No fences or barriers. A little unnerving.

Fledgling Anhinga.

50 foot high observation tower in the middle of the saw grass prairie.

Great Blue Heron

Roseate Spoonbill

Baby Alligator, maybe 12" long.

Watch out or you might step on one!!!!!!!

More baby Anhinga.

The tram tour is a wonderful 2 hour guided tour through the park.
